Black Coast Systems is interested in AI where it removes real operational work, improves decision support or makes software meaningfully easier to use. The AI & Automation Engineer designs and ships practical workflows around language models, structured data extraction, internal assistants and process automation. This is not a research role built around demos. We are looking for someone who can connect AI capabilities to production systems, evaluate reliability and know when a deterministic workflow is better than a model.
Responsabilități
- Design and implement AI assisted workflows for real business processes
- Integrate language models and structured extraction into production systems
- Build internal assistants, classification flows and document processing where useful
- Connect AI workflows with APIs, databases and automation services
- Create evaluation methods for quality, reliability and failure cases
- Design safe fallbacks when model output is uncertain or incorrect
- Automate repetitive operational work without removing necessary human control
- Monitor cost, latency and quality of AI powered features
- Document prompts, model behaviour, data flows and operational limitations
- Work with product and operations teams to identify use cases worth automating
Experiență și competențe
- Strong software engineering or automation background
- Hands on experience shipping language model or AI assisted workflows
- Good understanding of APIs, structured outputs and data pipelines
- Ability to evaluate model quality beyond a few successful examples
- Experience with prompt design, testing and operational guardrails
- Strong judgement about privacy, sensitive data and access control
- Comfort combining deterministic logic with model based components
- Clear documentation and practical problem solving
- Experience with workflow automation platforms is useful but not required

A use case starts with a measurable operational problem, not with a model. You first understand the existing workflow, identify where AI adds value and define what a safe failure looks like. You then build the smallest reliable solution, connect it to the relevant systems and evaluate it against realistic examples. Features that handle sensitive information require explicit controls and clear data boundaries. The objective is dependable automation that survives everyday use.
